Bisexuals
sexartandpolitics: We have a hard time maintaining a coherent identity. We are erased: the male bisexual is completely invisible and the female bisexual is just playing for male attention. We are dismissed: gays are annoyed by their bisexual brothers and sisters who have chosen opposite sex partners. Pretty much everybody thinks we’re greedy sluts and it’s hard to push past that. The vast...

Yoga Diaries: Day 15
Some days I feel so heavy. Yesterday I weighed myself, and although as an intelligent person I know that fluctuations in weight are perfectly reasonable, especially when exercising- I let myself get down because I have continued to gain weight. Yoga Diaries: Day 8
Last night I went to a late class hoping to avoid a teacher I find is particularly unaccomodating to those of us who are not “shaped” for a hardcore Vinyasa class already. She offers no support or modifications, and chooses impossible poses for someone of my size and skill level. I went to this late class, only to find her subbing in for the orginial teacher - so another hour and a...

My Yoga Diaries: Day 6
I’ve decided to document my recent endeavor to do more Yoga. I bought an 8 week pass, and I am finishing up week one right now. The first class I took basically murdered me. I’ve been practicing Yoga on and off for 5 or 6 years, but it had been a while in-between, this time. I was having trouble not judging myself in a room full of beautiful people who are able to do headstands and...
